NEW CHANGES BY DEFRA TO LICENSED CATTERIES
As from the 1st October 2018 all boarding catteries will continue to be inspected by their local council but will now be given a star rating to indicate whether they meet the minimum or higher standard under the new legislation and DEFRA guidance.
This new (2018) rating system aims to helps customers make an informed choice as to where to leave their pets and also protects the welfare of animals.
The new system is risk-based and following the inspection will determine the length of the licence and the star rating.
1 Star being the lowest and 5 Stars being the highest.
Cambria Farm Cattery has been awarded the highest rating of 5 stars by East Cambridge District Council as of December 2018
